August 2022 Recap-Life Update, Things We Did, Things I’m Loving

in Lifestyle, Motherhood, Travel on 09/05/22

As August comes to an end, so does one of my favorite summers yet. I always look forward to fall, so it’s not really bittersweet that it’s coming to an end, but we do love lake days and wish those can stay a little longer.

August Recap

This month was a busy one for us as we went on our first kid-free trip to Nashville since our oldest was born. It’s been over 3.5 years since Tanner and I went on a vacation just the two of us! We also managed to sneak away for a night to see our favorite band Whiskey Myers in concert, so it was overall an eventful month! The boys also got lots of Grandma and Grandpa time with both our parents which is so special. I am going to write a blog post about our Nashville trip with details on where we stayed, ate and what we did, so I won’t do that here, but I will say that it was not our favorite place to visit and will not go back for a vacation even though we did have fun.

Whiskey Myers was a fun time and we would see them in concert again 100%. The concert was in Kalispell, Montana at the Big Sky Brewery, so we took a little road trip and stayed the night in a hotel. It was so crowded there and with it being outside and a hot day, the lines for food and drinks were understandably long, but we managed to snag a couple sodas (there wasn’t any water for sale!). We ate before we arrived, but we were both SO thirsty when we got there haha. It was fun getting to sit outside in the sunshine on a picnic blanket, listening to good music with the hubs by my side, even though he wasn’t feeling so hot that day. He’s a champ and pulled through though haha.

After the concert, we all took turns getting sick which wasn’t fun of course and heartbreaking seeing your babies not feeling themselves. Thankfully it didn’t last long for us and we got over it quickly. After all of that, we celebrated our niece and nephew’s birthday! They share a birthday but are 2 years apart, so it’s fun getting to celebrate them together each year.

Nashville was at the end of the month, so we ended August with a fun trip with a few of my best friends and their men. I haven’t seen my friends since my birthday 6 months ago! They all turned 30 years old a day apart from each other, so we got to celebrate them all at the same time!

Life Update

This month I also have been trying to focus more of my time into my business while still being a stay at home mom and that has been a little difficult, but manageable. Trying to find time to take outfit photos is a challenge since we are taking a break from having a babysitter come watch the boys twice a week, but I am still able to find some time when Tanner is home throughout the week. My goal is to post 5-6 times a week along with Reels on Instagram and keep up on this blog, since it’s fun for me to write things out and show a different side of myself than what you see on social media. I want to make a blog post once a week starting in September along with everything else! It’ll be busy for sure, but fun! Fall is right around the corner and I will be thriving with cozy outfits very soon!

Things I’m Loving This Month

  • Sunny and warm mornings
  • Oakley’s personality (he’s so silly)
  • The way Easton runs everywhere now
  • Cowboy Boots (thought I was never going to give into this trend, but here I am haha. They’re so cute!)
  • Relaxed fit jeans
  • Vacation Tanner (he’s a vibe haha)

Below are some highlight photos from this month! Outfit links are found here!

I will be back next month with another recap! Talk soon <3
